Portola is home to the picturesque Portola Riverwalk & Disc Golf Course. The Portola Riverwalk is a multi‐purpose paved trail, providing trail access from the downtown area to the National Forest picnic area located just east of town. The Riverwalk land area totals over 28‐acres and contains native vegetation and the City's disc golf course. 

The course is the first disc golf course in California to be designed by John Houck. He is the preeminent designer in the disc golf world. The course runs adjacent to the scenic Feather River and its layout provides a fun and challenging experience for both novices and advanced players alike.
