March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election - Press Release

From Plumas County Elections Office regarding the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election
Press Release
February 21, 2024
Plumas County Elections

After a legal challenge as to the clear and concise meaning of “Measure A” and the wording included in the Resolution and Ordinance adopted to be put it before the voters, there was a question of whether both incorporated and unincorporated jurisdictions were to vote on the measure. I t was brought to our attention that the voters within the City of Portola did not have the local “Measure A” on their ballot for the March 5, 2024 Primary Election.

After ongoing legal review, it was determined on February 20, that the City of Portola, being the only incorporated city within unincorporated County of Plumas, is in fact entitled to vote on Measure A.
The Plumas County Elections office is remedying this by issuing a supplemental ballot to the registered voters in the City of Portola. These supplemental ballots will be going out by the end of the week. If you have already returned your ballot, this supplemental ballot will only have Measure A on it, and your original ballot will be counted in its entirety.

The originally issued ballot as well as the supplemental ballot for this election must be postmarked by March 5, 2024.
